Chau Van Luong, 82, died Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Mercy Hospital. He was born April 13, 1929, to Mac and Pa Luong in Vietnam and moved to the US in 1975.

In Lao, Chau served in the Laos and French military, and US Aid, a CIA organization. In the U.S., he worked as an account clerk for Ardan Jewelers, food supply at Methodist Hospital, the recycling center, and refugee specialist in Fargo, SD.

Chau was a member of St. Ambrose Cathedral and active in several Laotion organizations including SOTAF, KADSANE, and the Hmong Lao Catholic Church. He exercised his mind by reading the daily Asian and world news and enjoyed socializing with friends and family.

Chau is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nong; nine children; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister; one brother; and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
