Dona May Kilbourne, 68, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was born January 11, 1943, in Linton, North Dakota, to Anton, Sr., and Lydia (Wagner) Roth.
Dona is survived by her husband, Mick Kilbourne; sons, Jeff and Brian (Lori) Caldwell; grandsons, Garrett and Eric; stepdaughter, Traci (Joe) Vignaroli; stepson, Kory (Natalie) Kilbourne; five step-grandchildren; mother, Lydia Roth; 11 brothers and sisters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Anton Roth, Sr., and her nephew, Brandon Roth.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 216 N. Washington Avenue in Elkhart, with burial to follow at Elkhart Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, September 9, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to purchase a personalized photo memorial headstone.

Mick and Family: Sorry to read about Dona. I met her and enjoyed visiting with her when she came to the Bondurant Post Office where I was Postmaster until I retired in 2002. She was a wonderful person to know. May God bless you all.

I am so saddened to read of Dona's passing..........I didn't know that she had been that sick. I will always remember her smile and as a special friend that I got to meet and having her come to our MCSBA meeting last year.
I and the entire MCSBA pony club extend our sympathies to the whole family.
May peace be with you with all of her memories that she has left.

To Dona's loved ones,
Your wife, mother and grandmother was a beautiful lady, inside and out. We had the honor of meeting Dona many years ago and knew what a special person she was. We welcomed her into our family with open arms as she did the same. She will be deeply missed and live in our hearts forever and ever.

My dear beloved sister, you are dearly loved and I miss you so much! You are no longer in pain and are now walking on the heavenly streets of gold with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I can just see dad reaching out his arms as he welcomed you into heaven!
Mick, you have been such a wonderful husband to Dona and loved her dearly. I am so thankful to God for bringing you into her life. I now pray that he gives you divine comfort for the pain that so deeply pierces your sorrowful heart.
Jeff & Brian, you are wonderful sons that have brought great honor to your mother and cared very deeply for her. Your mom always wanted the "best" for her boys and worked hard to make this happen. She had taught you so many good things that you can pass along to your boys and generations to come.
Dona loved people and everyone she met just wanted to "love her back." Although it hurts so much to let Dona go, there is great comfort in knowing that we will see her again someday in heaven(1Thess 4:13-18).
