Sydney L. Schwienebart, 17, went to heaven Monday, August 29, 2011. She was born August 28, 1994, in Des Moines, to Chris Schwienebart and Gina Engel.
Sydney was a senior at Southeast Polk High School. She had a love for music and was a very talented artist. Sydney enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a passion for life, as she overcame a kidney transplant in 2009. She was a strong and courageous young lady who will be missed by all who loved her.
Sydney is now looking down on her parents, Chris and Gina; sisters, Heather and Morgan; and brother, Camden; grandparents, Larry and Sue Schwienebart; grandma, Sharon Weiss; grandparents, Dave and Julie Engel; her Uncle Todd (Loralin), who donated his kidney to Sydney in 2009; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Berean Assembly of God, 5299 E. University Avenue, Pleasant Hill, with burial to follow at Restland Cemetery in Baxter. The family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m., Friday at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund for Sydney, at US Bank.

Last time I saw sydney was when I was back for my graduation in May.
She met my son, and he was bein a bit crabby but all it took was one
of sydneys smiles and he was all better... Sometimes I wish we could have one of her smiles right now... I bet everything would seem better or at least a little easier... I guess its true that only the good die young,
and I cant wait to see her again someday

I don't know if you'll remember us, but I think you will. We just wanted you to know how sorry we are for the loss of your beautiful daughter, Sydney. We pray you will find comfort and strength to get through the next days with the help of the Lord Jesus. You're in our prayers! When I think of Sydney I smile just as she always does. I have so many great memories with Sydney. I am so blessed to have been a part of her life and her family. Like you said Chris .... music was something she enjoyed so much and those are some of my best memories with her. My favorite is when we were baking cookies and dancing to music in the kitchen. Please know I am thinking of each everyone one of you and you are all in my prays.

Im still having a hard time babygirl thinking you are gone. My heart just wont stop aching for your family!! You were a beautiful girl inside and out and a good friend to my daughter! My son Josh was friends with Sydney ... like all, he will miss her greatly. I know there are no words that will ever truly make this better - but there are many of us thinking of the Sydney's family and friends. Bundles of prayers are being said so you may be granted the strength, courage and comfort you need to get through and carry on.

One of my favorite memories of Sydney is going through Culver's drivethru. She would always pop her head out the window and say "Hi! How are you guys doing!" She had such a bubbly personality. We will miss her beautiful smile. You are in our thoughts and prayer.
