George Zenor, 69, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family Monday, August 29, 2011. He was born December 3, 1941, in Des Moines, the son of Jake and Esther (Walker) Zenor.
George is survived by his children, Kitti McAnelly-Mason, Amy (Tim) Fowler, George (Jennifer) Zenor and Kasey (Lonnie) Dings; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and in April 2011, his loving wife, Karen Zenor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona, with burial to follow at the Altoona Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Animal Rescue League, in loving memory of George.
