Frederic Alan Dalrymple, 62, of Indianola, Iowa passed away on August 21, 2011.
Fred was born January 10, 1949 in Melrose, MA. After graduating Andover High School in Andover, MA, Fred joined the US Marines and was recruited to Vietnam. After completing his service of 6 ½ years, Fred attended college at North Adams State College in MA. For the past 30+ years Fred has worked in the IT industry both in the New England area and Iowa. Fred was currently an employee of Wells Fargo Mortgage.
Fred enjoyed his family, golf, problem solving, playing Wii, living in Iowa and mowing his lawn. Fred will be remembered for his wonderful ability to inject humor into difficult situations.
Fred is survived by his wife Renee (Woodward) Dalrymple; his children, Dr. Christine (Matt Dunbrack) Dalrymple of Pelham, N.H., Dr. Nichole Rinehart of Indianola, IA, Michelle Dalrymple of Cumberland, R.I., Logan (Missy) Rinehart of Pleasant Hill, IA, nephew Jason Dalrymple (Amy Berg) of Minneapolis, MN, niece Amanda (Jim) Paragios of Ipswitch, MA; and his grandchildren, Connor Dunbrack, Christopher, Alex, and Nicholas Herrick, and Jaxon Rinehart. Fred is also survived by his brother Bill (Roberta) Dalrymple of Niantic, CT, his half-sisters Patricia Murphy, Jean Hugadorn, Roberta Topping, and Susan Wood; and his favorite mother-in-law, Carolyn Woodward, of Moravia, IA.
Fred was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents Frederic Dalrymple and Betty Jean Waid, and his brother Richard Dalrymple.
Per Fred’s request, the body has been donated to Des Moines University and will later be cremated. An informal gathering to celebrate Fred’s life will be planned for later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family will be making a one-time donation to the Disabled American Veterans organization and Taylor House Hospice. Donations can be sent to the family.

Please accept my sympthany and condolences. My career crossed paths with Fred at Wells Fargo starting 6 years ago this month. I had no idea he had been ill. Fred was a such a good fellow - funny, great at his job, and truly just had his own style. "Fred was Fred" - he was jovial and direct at the same time. He "called them like he saw them". I'm grateful for the opportunity to have worked with him & to have met him in person. He was one of a kind.
On my most recent project at WFHM (fall 2009), while we weren't working on the same items, we would both be participants on release calls and any time he gave an update, I know I ended up smiling to myself at my desk - thinking how funny he was & what a distinctive voice. He had a unique delivery style of his updates, that is for sure!
I'm sure he will be missed all who met him! He was appreciated and hope he knew it.

I worked with Fred for the past 4-5 yaers...He is always a smiling face in the office and our common meeting place was the coffee counter. He would look at me couple of other Indian collegues and say --"Big meeting hah!! Solving all world hunger!" ...and we would all nod and laugh heartly!

Fred was great to work with. He was so smart and organized and his attitude was always so positive. He was a great asset to Wells Fargo and he will be missed on many levels. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Dalrymple Family:

Although I never met Fred in person, I worked with him via long distance, for many years, here at Wells Fargo. He never turned down a request for assistance, and I always enjoyed the opportunity to work with someone of his abilities, both intellectually and in his dealings with people.
He will be missed, but also fondly remembered, here at Wells Fargo.

Dear Dalrymple Family:
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Fred. I had the pleasure of working with Fred over a number of years at Wells Fargo and he was a pleasure to work with. He was always given the tough assignments and when he was involved, you always knew everything was going to be just fine. Fred was always an extremely positive influence on others and everyone always enjoyed working with him. His zest for life was infectious. As everyone knows he could bring levity to any situation and just made people feel good.
May the love of family and friends sustain you in the coming days and weeks. May you find comfort in the fact the one of Fred's last selfless acts to the people he loved, was in offering himself up so others may benefit from his wonderful life.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Fred will be greatly missed here at Wells Fargo. Fred was respected by so many for his knowledge, his devotion, his attitude, and his sense of humor. One of Fred's favorite sayings here at work was "we are having the time of our lives". Even though it was kind of a "funny saying", I knew it was really true for Fred. Fred loved work, and he was really good at it. His attitude and dedication were inspirational, and everyone admired him very much. Best wishes to his family.
