Juanita Mathews

Juanita Mathews, 40, of West Des Moines died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Juanita was born September 18, 1966 in Iowa City. She was a member of the Wakonda Christian Church, and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs. Juanita was an LPN at Taylor House Hospice, and had been a nurse since she was 17. She devoted her life to taking care of people, always putting others needs before her own.
Juanita is survived by her three brothers, Bradley (Sherry) Strasser of Des Moines, Charles Mathews of Boone, and Christopher (Jodi) Strasser of DeSoto; her four sisters, Perian (Sean) Campbell of Merritt Island, FL, Tracy (Russ) Buhler of Katy, TX, Penny (Matt) Tuckel of Lawrence, KS, and Jamie (Tony Ross) Strasser of Des Moines; 12 nieces and nephews; 1 great-niece; and her three cats, Sandi, Beauty and Smokey. She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Irma Strasser.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor House.
