Josephine Sciachitano

Josephine M. Sciachitano, 84, was born March 19, 1927, in Des Moines and passed away August 14, 2011.

Josephine is survived by her brothers, Anthony (Kathy) Sciachitano and John (Alyce) Sciachitano; sister, Shirley Gilkeson; three nieces; seven nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Jennie (Anselmo) Sciachitano and brother-in-law, C.V. Gilkeson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice in loving memory of Josephine.
