Karla Dianne Salmon

Karla Salmon, 72, passed away August, 13, 2011 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at the Coffey Cemetery in Coffey, Missouri.

Born October 7, 1938, Karla Dianne Smith was the daughter of Quentin and Evelyn (Pearson) Smith. On September 29, 1957 she was united in marriage to Nolan Gary Salmon and to this union two daughters were born, Nola and Angie. Karla enjoyed traveling all around the world with her family, and participating in various card and social clubs. Most of all she loved ballroom dancing with her many friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Nola (Tom) Schlueter and Angie Salmon-Ford; grandchildren, Stephanie Schlueter, Madeline Ford, and Dylan Ford; sister, Karen (William) Reed; half-sister, Majiel Gibbar; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Gary Salmon in 2005; her parents; and a sister, Patricia Huston.
