Shirley J. Bentley, 66, died Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. She was born April 20, 1945, to Gerald and Betty Bentley in Des Moines.
Shirley is survived by her children, Betty (Mark) Tindall, Sherry Lynn Wilson, and Stanley C. (Valerie) Wright, II; grandchildren, Missy Kiefer, Angela Kiefer, Dustin (Ashley Badker) Kiefer, Terry Kiefer, Harley Tindall, Matt (Jessie) Tindall, Marty Tindall, Latisha (Michael Muñoz) Wright, Justin (Jennifer) Morin, and Sarah (Tim Monson) Morin; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy (Rusty) Smith; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathryn Mahayla Wright; brothers, Larry and Jerry Bentley; and sister, Sharon Snyder.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Cremation will follow the service. Family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

I wish to send my sympathies to the family of Shirley Bentley. Aunt Shirley was a care giver to so many and was instrumental in the care of my sisters and I when we were young. I thank God for her presence in our lives and her love she so freely gave. I thank her for bringing us together with our mother, that we were able to get to know her during her short time here on earth. I pray God wraps His arms around all who knew Aunt Shirley and will miss her here on earth, giving you comfort as you say your final farewells.
