Marion Klaver, 74, died Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House from long term heart problems. He was born March 15, 1937, to Adolph and Ollie Klaver in Kamrar, Iowa.
Marion graduated from Kamrar High School in 1954, and attended junior college in Webster City. After moving to Altoona in 1959, he began his long career as a driver for various companies including Colonial Bread, Brady Motor Freight, Thorne Trucking, Contract Transport Trucking, and Titan Tire. Marion was also an avid aviation pilot working for Elliott Flying Service for many years.
Marion was a Worshipful Master of the King David Masonic Lodge #407 in Altoona and a member of the Za Ga Zig Shrine and the Scottish Rite. He also was a member of the Antique Tractor Club and the Road Runners.
Marion is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Kreg (Sylvia) Klaver Sr. and Cheri (Ivan Archer) Solinger; step-children, Chantilly Barr and Brandon (Kari Conway) Juhl; grandchildren, Alison Klaver, Kreg Klaver Jr., Jess (Holly) Solinger, Christine (Matt) Dooley, Catherine (Mitch) Bockenstedt, Zachary and Zoey Barr, and Kiersten and Keegan Conway; great-grandchildren, Victoria Bella Klaver, Paige Solinger (almost here), Grace and Samantha Dooley, and Hayden and Tristan Bockenstedt; former spouse and mother of his children, Carole Klaver; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ken Klaver.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the family of Marion Klaver. Although I have not seen Marion for many years, I have good memories of him from Kamrar High School as a classmate with the class of 1954. Please also extend my sympathy to his former wife, Carole. Although she was a grade ahead of us in high school, I remember her well. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Marion's family.

Dear Kathy & family;
We`re so sorry to hear of Marion`s passing. We will remember the times we had meeting at the stste fair for a beer or lunch and to catch up on the latest family news. I will also remember Marion & I playing and riding our bike`s when we were kids on the farm by Kamrar.

My Dad. Ken Shineflew just called to let me know that Marion had passed. I wanted to reach out and tell you how sorry I am. I always enjoyed running into you at Shrine events. I loved seeing you two ride out on the big ol tractor!

My condolences to all the Klaver family. My thought and prayers
go out to each and every family member. Marion was a great Father
in Law. He will be missed by us all. I was proud to have him as my
Father in Law, and I will miss all of the fun times we had when he and
Kathy would visit us in Las Vegas. We had alot of laughs and many happy
memories over the years. Rest in Peace!

So sorry for your loss. Now he's up there in Heaven with the other "Pub" regulars, like Tom, Jim Hay, Bob Harridge, Don Cochran and a host of other characters. We will miss him! Take care of yourself and I will see you soon!
