Service Details
Glenn Petre, 81, passed away August 12, 2011, at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines. He was born August 1, 1930 to Howard and Velma Petre.
Glenn served in the Air Force as a radar operator. His favorite sport was NASCAR Racing and Dale Earnhardt was his favorite driver. Glenn loved to travel and work outside.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his children, Paul Petre, Debra Petre, Brian (Sherry) Petre, and Randall Petre; his stepdaughter, Iona (Matt) Botkin; grandchildren, Brenda Christal, Christina Petre, Rachel Petre, and Lauren Petre; and step-grandson, Kyle Botkin.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Glenn.
