Mary Fackler, 98, was born January 14, 1913, to Frank and Maude (Hall) Marnin in Adair, Iowa. She went to be with her Lord on August 11, 2011. She married Lloyd Fackler August 7, 1928 in Moline, Illinois. She lived in the Des Moines area most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years Lloyd; her brothers, Francis and Merle; and daughter-in-law Carol.

She is survived by her three sons Donald (Evelyn), of St. Paul, MN, James (Sharon), of Cedar Falls, IA, David (Patricia) of Woodhaven, MI; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary retired from Dahl’s Food store. She worked as an Election Official for over twenty years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. Mary liked to fish and loved Gospel and country music.

Mary attended Sheridan Park United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Esther Circle. She was a member over 60 years, Past Worthy Matron, of Des Moines Chapter #89 O.E.S., member over 50 years, Past Worthy High Priestess, of Des Moines White Shrine #43, and a member of the Daughters of the Nile.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday August 14, 2011, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sheridan Park United Methodist Church or Shriners Childrens Hospitals.
