Little Zacarius T. Brown went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. He was born to Fabian Brown and Chelsea Shivers on August 13, 2008.
Zacarius laughed and smiled throughout his two and one-half years; bringing joy and happiness to everyone he touched. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Annette L. Crawford and Dwight Brown, and maternal grandparents, Shelley Bailey and Patrick Shivers Sr., all of Des Moines; and many other relatives and friends who loved “Lil Z” very much.
Zacarius had Trisomy 18 and his life was a brief gift to us that will live on as his corneas were donated to Iowa Lions Eye Bank and received by those who were in need.
Funeral services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, IA 50309, on August 13, 2011. There will be a viewing at 12:30 p.m., followed by services at 1:00 p.m.

Dear Fabian & Chelsea: I was reading in the Des Moines Register and came across the one with Zacarius in it. The reason I scan the obits is because in 2001 my wife and I were blessed with a Trisomy 18 baby girl. She lived just short of 1 & 1/2 years and was a blessing everyday of her life. Her 7th pneumonia finally caught up to her and she couldn't battle any longer. Everybody deals with pain differently but my wife and I know some of the pain you must be feeling and we don't wish that kind of pain on anybody. I am hopeful you can cope in your own ways and find it in your heart to believe that Little Z is in a better place and will be a friend to our little angel already in heaven.
