Floyd Bainter

Floyd Bainter, 85, passed away July 27, 2011, at Kavanagh on 56th Street.
Floyd was born November 20, 1925, in Ralston, Iowa. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Floyd loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lucille; sons, Michael Bainter, Richard (Goldine) Bainter, and Dan (Nancy) Bainter; daughter, Linda (Bob) Newman; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Dyer and Daisy Douglas; and his brother, Jerry Bainter. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2011, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, followed by burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Dearest Aunt Lucille, Mike, Dick, Dan and Linda,
My mother are so sorry for your loss! We wish we could have come to Des Moines to be your family at this sad time. Please know we are keeping you in our prayers and our thoughts. Mom is so sad as FLoyd was a true brother and not just a brother in law! Our hearts go out to all of you. He will be missed!
