Mary E. Romans, 74, died July 26, 2011 at her home in Altoona. She was born January 31, 1937 in West Des Moines to Leo & Gwen (Shaw) Dumdei.
Mary was a member of the Des Moines Obedience Training Club and was a manager of Social Security for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Emily Romans and Susan (Darin) Ballard; brother, Leo Dumdei; grandsons, Tim (Samantha) Ballard, Andrew Ballard, Dillon Romans; and soon to be great grand baby.
Memorial services will be 12 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held after the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed to the family.

So sorry to hear the loss of your mother. I feel your pain. I lost my Mom in 2007. You have all my sympathy through this time of loss.

Both of us wish to express our sympathy for all of the family members. I wish we could have known your mother, grandmother, and sister. I am sure she was a wonderful person and she is now watching from Heaven. As you know, it has been a difficult year in the loss of loved ones for all of us. We both know how difficult it can be. Remember in the memories of all of the happy moments, this is what gets us through. Soon, we will all be there, watching down, just like your mother.
