Lurneva Nowata (Barber) Fuller, 68, went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2011, at the Urbandale Care Center. She was born on June 1, 1943, in Rawlins, WY, and was the daughter of Alwaska Ike Barber, Sr., and Mattie (Tilly) Vesters.

Survivors include four daughters, Raeanna Mae Paxton (Shannon), Rene Lynn Conn (Jerry), Ruth Ann Harvey, Rhonda Lee Smith (Danny), and helped raise her granddaughter, Desiree Timblin (Chavez); sister, Gwen Noweda Spencer; brother, Alwaska Ike Barber, Jr.; longtime friend and caregiver of 33 years, Gloria Lynn Jones; 13 grandchildren, Tina Rae, Carlos, Nichole, Jeremiah, SueAnna Renee , Jason LaRoy, Cristal Nowata, Steven Ryan, Desiree Lynn, Stephen Patrick, Autumn Christine, Kody Daniel, Willow Brooke; more than 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews and great nieces, and nephews.

Neva enjoyed all music, playing guitar and keyboard, camping, fishing, motorcycle riding, riding horses, old western movies, especially The Rifle Man, and Little House on the Prairie.

She was famous for her Navajo tacos and fried chicken. Family and friends were her greatest joy in life. Anybody who came in contact with her loved her instantly. She was funny, loving, and caring. She was a strong believer in her Native American culture and was proud of her native heritage.

She had a strong faith in Heavenly Father which was obvious to anyone she came in contact with, and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Richard Wayne Fuller.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2011, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3301 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines.
