Adam Horak
July 22, 2011
Adam Horak, 33, passed away July 23, 2011 in Apopka, Florida due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Adam was born October 24, 1977 in Des Moines. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1996, where he played baseball, football, and wrestled. Adam earned his Bachelors Degree in Finance at Iowa State University. He was the Chief Investment Officer for Allied Global Investments. Adam had a wide variety of interests and was passionate in everything he did. He enjoyed paintball, boxing, fishing, hunting, traveling, and watching sunsets. He also had a love for exotic cars, and riding foreign motorcycles. Adam was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles. Adam always had his family and friends close at heart.
Adam soared at whatever he did, and lived life to the fullest. He was a joker. He was a tease. Adam’s heart was kind, his words were soft, he was everyone’s best friend, and there at any moments notice. For everyone that knew Adam there will forever be a piece missing that will never be filled. Those beautiful baby blue eyes will forever be missed. We love you.
He is survived by his parents, John Horak and Marie “Kris” Peek; sisters, Nicole Horak, Cheyenne Johnson and Candi Strauser; brothers, Levi Johnson, and Caleb Johnson; paternal grandmother, Lois Horak; maternal grandmother Ruby Peek; nephews, Alec Johnson and Joseph Metz; best friend, Neal Griffiths; and many extended family members and friends. Adam was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Norbert Horak; maternal grandfather, John Peek, Sr.; nephew, Camden O’Connor; and his beloved dog, Deog.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2011 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Pkwy. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

I was brought to tears by the news of Adam's death. He was such an amazing person and touched my life in ways that I cant begin to explain. He was my first true love and will forever hold a piece of my heart. I hope that someday all the pain will turn into peace and that Adam will remain vibrant in our memories. Adam lived his life in the fast lane and loved like there was no tomorrow. Heaven just got a little bit sweeter when he passed thru those pearly gates. Kris and John, you should be proud of the man that Adam was and always aspired to be. He loved you both seperately and unconditionally like every child should. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and i pray for healing within your broken hearts.

I have known Adam for the last 5 years and although in recent years we have not had as much time together as I would have liked, it was always a pleasure when we would get together. Whether it was running a 5k or at a party, he was always there to lend a helping hand. I will miss getting his texts just telling me to have a wonderful day. He was one of the best people I have had the pleasure of meeting and you would never have to ask twice if you needed his help.
Condolences go out to his family and everyone he ever had the pleasure of knowing.

We are so so sorry about the loss of Adam. He and Robin knew one another and I had the privilege of spending a few days in a training class that Adam was running. He was an amazing man to be so successful at such a young age. The financial information he knew was astonding. We have never met anyone else who has so much investing knowledge as Adam. Our prayers are with Adam's father, whom he spoke so fondly of, all other family and friends. Truly there is one less light in the night sky. Knowing that he died leaves a big hole in our hearts. May he rest in peace

It never failed if Adam was there, there would be laughter! He brought brightness to this sometimes grim world for that is how I will remember him mostly, second I will remember him for what he would have called his "manisma"! Addie, till we meet again may you rest in peace and watch over your friends and family. Gods speed.
Love ya

Please accept our sympathy for your loss. Adam was a friend of our son, Ryan. He visited and helped out when Ryan had a motorcycle accident in 2008 and was also our neighbor. He was quick to offer to help us if we needed it when Ryan was unable to due to his injuries. I believe Adam is with the Lord now...we will miss seeing him. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.
Sincerely,
John & Rose
