Travis Lyle Konrad, 20, was born February 22, 1991 in Des Moines and passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011.
Travis is survived by his mother, Pamela Jonas-Vandersluis; mother, Sharon Konrad; father, Lyle Konrad; step-father, Jason Vandersluis; his son in Arizona; brothers, Neil Konrad, Kaleb Konrad and Josh Dodd; sisters, Taylor Dodd, Heather Konrad and Cassidy Konrad; brother, Paul Petersen; sister, Tiffany Fisher; cousin, Caley Renaud; grandmothers, Susan Jonas and Frances Brand; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandma Ginger.
The family will greet friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Travis.

I am so sorry to hear of this. Just wanted you to know an old friend is thinking about you and your family. I just lost Rick in February, so I know how much the support of friends means. My payers are with you! He was the same age as our Eric.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Travis . Roy has many good memories of Travis and loved him dearly. I didn't know Travis well but since he came with such good people when he came down I am thinking he was a good kid. Granny sends her sympathy .. God Bless You All . I am so very sorry for your loss, losing a child is something that a parent never should have to endure. It is truly a hardship, I lost my son also, so if at anytime that you feel like you woulld like somone to talk with please feel free to contact me. Knowing that he has helped others and still lives on is a such a precious gift to give. I received a poem after my son died refering to God needing young angels also, at these times of sorrow like this it is questionable about faith and belief , but do beleive there are people that are there for you, and if there is at any time, I can be of any help, wether it is to talk to, or need someone for the kids please let me know.
