Delia “Dee” Ann Clayton was born February 11, 1936 in Cherokee, Iowa to Philip Jacob and Luella Dorothea (Witter) Wilmot. She was a high school graduate and attended the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School. Dee worked as a switchboard operator for the Iowa Department for the Blind, Job Services for the state of Iowa, and Sears. She married Frank Edwin Youngblut, Charles Clayton, and Richard "Dick" Clark who all precede her in death.

Dee enjoyed her evolvement with ACB and ACBDA were she spent many hours talking and educating numerous wonderful people about the programs. Her CHAT rooms were her favorite places to be, to keep connected with the world and all the wonderful friends she had there. Also, she enjoyed time with all her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Dee passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC at the age of 84.

She is survived by her children, Sandra K. Feldman & Larry Deetz, Carolyn Jo Martelli (passed 21 Mar 2020), Art & Nancy Clayton, and Kelly Feldman; sibling, Alma Leonard; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends.

Dee was preceded in death by her grandson, William “Billy” Feldman; siblings, Allen "Buck" Wilmot, Dean Wilmot, Donna Gadke, Dale Wilmot, and Rick Martelli.

There will be a memorial service held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Burial will follow the service at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. The family will greet friends for two hours prior to the service.
There will be a gathering with lunch at Union Park west shelter by slide after.
