Patricia "Trish" Johnston Thompson

Patricia Ann Johnston-Thompson (Trish) was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 30, 1956. She passed in her home on November 3, 2025. She was 69 years old.

Trish worked as an ER Tech at Broadlawns Hospital for many years, then went out to be a truck driver, then went back to ER Technician, and retired in 2021. Then she went out and traveled with her Uncle Jack. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Trish loved family gatherings.

Trish was preceded in death by her parents, Carolina Allen, David Allen and Betty Allen; her brothers, David Allen Jr., Rick Loghry and Jim Loghry; her husbands, Dennis Johnston and Robert Thompson; and her grandsons, Triston Kern and Tyler Haus.

She is survived by her children, Chris (Tracey) Kern, Robert (Esther) Kern, Carrie (Leon) Nobles, Heath (Amber) Burr, Angel (Charles) Alfred, Kim (Tom) Burr, Dennis Johnston Jr. and Teresa Wambsgans; siblings, Victoria (Donnie) Fichter, Juanita Brower, Christina Allen, Norma (Donny) McVey, Nick (Colleen) Allen, John (Jeannie) Loghry, Roger (Lisa) Loghry and Orville (Ramona) Loghry; 45 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; her uncles, Jack Allen and Fred Allen; and her aunt, Jennie Delrosario.

Services will be held on Sunday November 16, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place on Monday, November 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 3002 N Court Road, Ottumwa.
