Kay Borreson

Kay Ann Borreson, 79, passed away in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 17, 2021. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on November 13, 1941, the daughter of Linton and Jean Olson.

Kay graduated from West Salem High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to David Borreson on June 13, 1964. Kay was a loving wife and mother who took great pride in caring for her family and home.

She was an active member of The Mission Church where she enjoyed serving in children’s ministry, and giving to many local and national charity organizations.

Kay is survived by her husband, David Borreson; daughter, Tracy (Jason) Griess; grandsons, Grayeson Griess, Harrison Griess, and Alexander Griess; brothers, Irvin “Korky” (Dianne) Olson and James (Darla) Olson; sisters, Karen (LeRoy) Bell, Sandee Gandara, and Marcia Muesing; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews that loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Linton and Jean Olson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at The Mission Church, 12001 Ridgemont Drive in Urbandale. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. A private family burial will be held at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Memorial contributions will be received by the family for a future designation in Kay’s honor.
