Pamela "Pam" Falkstrom
December 15, 1948 — October 31, 2024
Pam Falkstrom, 75, passed away on October 31, 2024, at Methodist Hospital.
Pam was born on December 15, 1948, to Phillip and Roseanna Johnson in Rockford, Illinois. Pam was a force of joy and kindness wherever she went. She enjoyed volunteering at the Playhouse, working with her friends at Meredith/NeoData/HP, and spending a night out with friends and family. She loved theatre, seeing her son Matt’s bands, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. Pam always gave to those who needed help, whether a stranger on the street asking for money or her closest family members going through struggles.
Pam believed the purpose of life was to learn about ourselves and each other. She frequently used a paraphrase of Maya Angelou and would say, “You know better, you do better”.
The most important thing in Pam’s life was her family. She dedicated every day of her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a large extended family. Her family was her priority every day.
Pam is survived by her sons, Matt (Tess) and Michael; her grandchildren, Kurt, Kourtney (Kyle), Angel (Andy), Gage (Lis), Gadah (Josh), Gavin, Grayson, and Lucy; her great-grandchildren, Arin, Eleanor, and Andy; and a host of extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Lew; her parents, Phil and Rose; her son, Mitch; her brother, Phillip Dale; and her sisters, Mikan and Missy.
Family will be greeting friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Love, hugs, and prayers for Pam's family. Great memories of being neighbors for 45 years. Lots of good times, laughs, and a few tears plus a wonderful bond and friendship. I will miss our visits, phone calls and text messages. Rest in peace, my friend. Hope you knew how much you were loved. My prayer is for God to comfort the family in the days ahead.
