Judy Marie Storey, 75, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on February 19, 2025. She was born on April 6, 1949, in Casey, Iowa to Max and Lillian Krause.

Judy had a passion for helping others look and feel their best. She began her career as a beautician in 1968, a profession she dedicated herself to until 2000. She then brought her warmth and sense of style to Von Maur, where she worked in the women’s better dresses department until her retirement in 2022.

Outside of work, Judy was an avid reader who could often be found with a good book in hand. She also loved watching movies and enjoyed escaping into a great story, whether on the page or the screen. Judy found great joy in celebrating holidays with her family, creating cherished traditions and memories over the years. She also had a love for travel and embraced the opportunity to explore new places.

Judy was a longtime member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, where she found community and faith throughout her life.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Storey, who passed in 1988, as well as her parents and sister, Ruby Brown, and brother-in-law, Clarence Brown. She is survived by her son, Justin Storey; her niece, Roxan Hammer (late husband, Greg), along with their children, Timothy (Ericka) and Sarah; her nephew, Robert Brown (Deb), along with their daughters, Emily and Rachel; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
