Joanne Marie O'Keefe

Joanne Marie O’Keefe, 88, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024 at Kavanaugh House.

Joanne was born August 10, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa to Steve and Lillian (Koppes) Jackovich. She graduated from Lincoln High School. She worked in the insurance industry for over 40 years. She was a longtime member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd before attending Lutheran Church of Hope. She loved going to church.

Joanne enjoyed golf, playing cards with friends, and traveling. She was very lively and lived her life loudly. Above all her family meant the world to her.

Joanne is survived by her sons, Mark (Dawn) Stout and David (Janet) Stout; brother, Ronald Jackovich; grandchildren, Danielle (Scott) Buchheit, Heather Stout, Thomas Stout, and Heather Pastore; and sister-in-law, Ardeda Waters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husbands, Frank Stout and William O’Keefe; brother, Michael Waters; and sister, Barbara Evatt.

The family will greet friends on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Joanne will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.
