Gigi Anthony
Altoona, Iowa
Glenna Gaye “Gigi” Anthony, 62, was born July 17, 1962 in Newton, Iowa and passed away on September 1, 2024 in Altoona, Iowa.
Gigi was a young hippie at heart with a free spirit and beautiful soul. She enjoyed music, dance and was blessed to share her love of both with others. She was a Registered Nurse with a specialty in chemical addiction, and took great pride in knowing her personal experiences were able to positively impact others in their journey to becoming healthy. Gigi started her nursing career as a volunteer in high school, and her passion for serving and caring for others carried with her throughout her entire life. She had a heart of gold, as she touched, helped and saved people’s lives. Gigi dedicated her life and work to nurturing those around her, especially those that had lost their way, leaving her inspiring imprint wherever she went. Gigi will be remembered for her loving, generous heart that provided unconditional love, never passing judgement on those around her. She made it her life mission to always see the best in people, even when they couldn’t see it in themselves. Gigi was such a positive light in this world that will be so deeply missed.
Gigi is survived by her daughter, Sara (Arthur) Kern; son, Sean (Mistie) Anthony; grandchildren, Jaden, Natalie, Kristian and Skyler; one great grandchild on the way; mother, Mary Ann Nevins (William L. Meek); sisters, Bobbi Drye and Penny (Nevins) Dow; niece, Alexis Drye, other loving relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her “Dad”, Thomas Nevins and her sister, Terry (Nevins) Correy.
A Celebration of Life with food and refreshments will be held on Friday, September, 20, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Park Centre Garden Room, 500 1st Street N., Newton, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family and will be designated for numerous charities dear to Gigi.
