Christine (Greene) Howell

Christine “Chris” Howell, 63, passed away on April 17, 2024, after her battle with dementia. She was born on May 21, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa, to George and Donna Greene. Chris graduated in 1978 from Lincoln High School. She enjoyed movies, music, all sorts of crafting and going thrifting. Chris also enjoyed spending her time with her friends and family.

Chris is survived by her children, Fred (Megan) Oliphant IV and Stephanie Oliphant; six grandchildren, Claire, Mila, Augustus, Sophia, Dominick, and Charlotte; her sisters, Linda (William) Horton, Connie (Dennis) Huston, and Janie (Jay) Nevins; her brother, Steven Greene; seven nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Donna Greene.

Chris will be laid to rest at Elm Grove Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contribution may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association in the loving memory of Christine.

I am blessed to have had Chris, or "Greene Bean" as my dad affectionately called her, as my best friend for 60+ years. Chris was the sweetest person, my soul sister, my partner in crime. Although at times life or miles apart got in the way, we were always there for each other. It was a long, hard goodbye, but we will meet again. Until then, you are forever in my heart. My deepest sympathies to her family and all who knew and loved her.
