Brad Robert Nord
October 17, 1962 — January 22, 2024
Brad Robert Nord, 61, of Waukee and formally of Earlham and Huxley passed away on January 22, 2024 after suffering a sudden and irreversible stroke.
He was born October 17, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa to his parents, Mark and Wanda Nord and joined his siblings, Dirk and Rene. Brad was a devoted father who cherished his two boys and was immensely proud of both of them. He found joy in being outdoors, going on rides in his side-by-side to the special spot, fishing in various locations including Canada (Swain Post Camp/S.C.A.B. BAY), Montana, and Wyoming. He enjoyed sharing the thrill of shooting guns, hunting over Meg and Anna, and taking in scenic rides on his Harley through small towns on the weekends with his boys. Brad was not only diligent worker but also a loyal friend to those around him. Among cherished moments were family trips to Mexico and enjoying a good margarita.
Brad’s unwavering principles and strong convictions made him both opinionated and often hardheaded. His firm beliefs shaped his journey, leaving a lasting mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his sons, Will and Cole Nord; former wife, Sheila Nord; parents, Mark and Wanda Nord; siblings, Dirk (Annette) Nord, Rene (Scott) Locker; his uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 N.W. 60th Avenue Des Moines, Iowa.
If desired, memorial contributions can be made to the Christian Motorcyclist Association or The Iowa Patriot Guard Riders.
Honoring his generous wish of being a donor, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through Brad’s tissue donation.

I'm very glad I got to know Brad through work. He will be missed greatly. Not just for his knowledge, hard-work ethic or his handyman abilities but for his friendship. He was blunt at times but had a caring heart. See you later Brad. I'm glad I got to meet your boys too. They are as great as you said💓
