Alicia Morelos

Alicia Morelos, 20, passed away on May 2, 2024, at MercyOne Hospital.

Alicia was born on January 6, 2004, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Alicia loved all animals, big and small. She was a hard worker and had been working at Pet Smart since 2022. Alicia had a dog named Abby and a cat named Rudy. She loved spending time with her family and her boyfriend and she really enjoyed game nights. She was a great person and everyone that knew her loved her. She was her brothers’ biggest cheerleader.

Alicia was very artistic and loved her tattoos and piercings. She enjoyed all types of music and was a talented guitar player. Alicia loved going to concerts. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an amazing smile.

Alicia is survived by her mother, Violet Morelos; step-dad, Derek Williams; brothers, Thomas and Isaiah Griego; grandparents, Christy Morelos and Jerry Morelos; aunts and uncles, Vicki Morelos, Miguel Cano, Danny Morelos, Tatiana Youngman and Jerry Morelos Jr. and cousins, Olivia Cano, Sky Morelos, Astin Morelos and Phoebe Morelos; great-grandpa, Stan Roeske; and her great-grandma, Alicia Morelos. Her bonus family, grandma, Danelle Williams; grandpa, Herb Williams; aunt, Jessica Williams; cousins, Hayli, Lexi, C.J., Deyvn and Damian; step-siblings, Dylan and Jackson Williams; and her boyfriend, Mason Baker.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandma, Carol Roeske and cousin, Gabriel Patrick Cano.

Family will greet friends Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m .at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in loving memory of Alicia.
