Eric, Gary, George, Laura, and family,
I'm deeply sorry for the emptiness that comes from losing someone you've loved and known so intimately, for so many decades. I knew one day I would probably attend Aunt Jean's funeral, but I couldn't manage it, because my mother was getting ready to follow yours to heaven, and we needed to stay near her.
All my memories of your sweet, gentle Mom are good ones. She was warm, welcoming, nurturing, and so kind and tolerant. I remember her love of keeping her hands busy with crafts, and that she found humor in small things. I always liked that she spoke highly of her children and grandchildren, their spouses, her siblings, and her mother. One of my favorite things about her was that even though I didn't get to see her very often, when I did, she always spoke to me as if we were confidants and close friends. She made me feel like I mattered. She was an excellent letter-writer, too.
As a Christian, I appreciated Aunt Jean's commitment to her church and her faith. We had a few conversations about biblical matters that gave me comfort and satisfaction of sharing with a fellow-believer.
Since childhood, I've always felt a sort of pride in my Corbin cousins-- interesting kids who turned into good people that were brought up by a wonderful, lovable Dad, and a sincere, quick-to-smile Mother. All you guys were blessed because of them, and I'm sorry for your loss.
Love,
Marty (Hughes) Anderson

I am so sorry to hear of Jean's passing. I remember her well from growing up. We were a tight neighborhood. Thinking of all of you children and the many memories of going to school together. May Jesus comfort you at this time.
