Thomas J. Jackson

Thomas James Jackson, age 59, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Tom was born July 2, 1965, in Des Moines, Iowa to Dr. Orvind R. and Margaret (Mitchell) Jackson. In addition to living in Iowa for most of his life, Tom also resided in Arizona, Wyoming, and Minnesota. He was a fan of fantasy football and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was also an avid reader; his favorite authors were Stephen King and Frank Herbert. Tom was generous with his talents and his time. He loved helping people in need. One of his favorite pastimes was to take road trips, especially skiing in Minnesota. He impacted many lives and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his siblings, Cathy Gersema, Nancy Jackson, Mike Jackson, and Barbara Hart; as well as many other family members and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Mary Wyss, Deborah Porter, and Maggie Sholar.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, with fellowship to follow.
