Shane C. Gruhn

Shane Curtis Gruhn, age 43, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024.
Shane was born August 25, 1981, in Des Moines, Iowa to James Jensen and Shelly Gruhn. He graduated from Saydel High School in 2000.
Shane loved motorcycles and muscle cars and was a proud owner of his red and blue Corvettes. He liked riding ATVs and blinged out every golf cart he owned. He always said he was the “Mayor of Saylorville” and could always be found driving around in his pimped-out carts.
Shane was a shoe fanatic and had a huge collection. He always dressed in black and blacked out all of his cars. He was self-made-man and owned A+ Flooring, and would always wear his A+ Flooring t-shirt and jeans, Buckle jeans were his favorite. Shane loved getting tattoos and piercings and always looked good.
Shane loved his dogs, Cash, Bella, Jersey, and Teddy. His favorite holidays were 4th of July and Christmas and he always went all out on Christmas. He would put up all the lights and decorations. He still even believed in Santa Claus.
Shane was known as a germaphobe and would always use hand sanitizer and always smelled clean. He had a great sense of humor and was funny. Everyone around him loved him. He knew how to make you laugh.
Shane was a loving father, husband, son, and brother and loved his daughters, Jada and Arie so much.
He is survived by his wife, LaTroya and his daughters, Jada and Arie; parents, Shelly Gruhn and Jim Jensen; bonus parents, Jodie Jensen and Jim Loftus; mother-in-law, Evelyn Hawkins and father-in-law, Donald Sickler; brother, Donnie Kay and sister-in-law Meaghan Kay; several step brothers and sisters; mini sisters, Nicole, Tabatha, Stephanie, and DesTenie; mini brothers, Ryan, Bo, and Jerry; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Sue Campbell; grandmothers, Rita Doll and Mary Loftus; and his aunt, Millie Bensink.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Eastgate Masonic Lodge, 2501 East Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50317.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Shane.

What can I say, you are truly missed Shane! Don't shoot anyone with a paintball gun, Kenny said he's still carrying a bruis from it! Fly high with the Angeles sweet nephew RIP.
