Peggy Anne Dehaan
March 17, 1950 — February 19, 2025
Peggy Anne Dehaan, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Kavanagh on 56th in Des Moines, Iowa, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born on March 17, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Anna and Floyd McGloghlon, Peggy was one of four siblings, including her older brother Bill and younger sisters Deborah and Laura.
In 1970, Peggy married Doug DeHaan, and together they had two children, Tiffini and Tyler. The family moved from Sioux City to Des Moines shortly after their marriage. Although Peggy and Doug divorced in 1983, Peggy later found love again with Don Archer, who sadly passed away from cancer in 2021. Peggy cherished her children and delighted in the special dinners prepared by her son and son-in-law. She shared a close bond with her daughter, spending much of their time together on various projects, enjoying wine, and embracing the outdoors. The birth of her grandchild, Cora, in 2010, was one of Peggy’s most treasured moments. Cora brought immense joy to Peggy’s life, and she was a devoted grandmother who loved playing games, watching movies, shopping, having lunches, and even jumping on the trampoline.
Peggy dedicated over 40 years to her career at Nationwide and discovered her creative side in her 40s when she started her business, “Wired Up.” She enjoyed showcasing and selling her creations at various shows and parties. In the past decade, Peggy focused on custom orders and found spiritual fulfillment in making crosses, which she generously gave to those experiencing difficult times or loss. Her kindness and love touched many lives.
Known for her impeccable eye for decorating, Peggy’s home always looked like a model home, with everything perfectly in place. She adored cats and all animals and had a unique fashion sense that brought smiles to those around her. Even during her battle with cancer, Peggy made wigs and hats fun, and her fashion sense extended to her matching pajamas. Her infectious laugh was unmistakable and could be heard from afar, bringing joy to everyone who knew her. Peggy’s kind, gracious, and innocent nature endeared her to many, as she continually put others first, listened intently, and showed unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Tiffini (Steve) Garman, and granddaughter Cora Garman; her son, Tyler Dehaan, and daughter-in-law Mallory Heggen, along with their children Odin and Luna; her brother, Bill (Susan) McGloghlon; her sisters, Deborah (Brett) Schatz and Laura Wells; her mother, Anne Uden; and her niece, Rachel (Justin) Williams. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd McGloghlon and her nephew, Cody Schatz.
A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kavanagh House Hospice in Des Moines. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Tiffini and family,
My heart truly breaks for you. I know she was a great Mom by the way I see you with your own daughter Cora. That is a legacy that will live on. Joy will come with the heartfelt memories that only you can replay in you mind.
Sincerely,
Craig and Diane Leaming
