Patricia Krueger

Patricia Jean Krueger, 87, went to her heavenly home November 15, 2023. She was born July 16, 1936 in Ames, Iowa to Alexander and Helen (Coy) Blair. She grew up in Ames alongside her three brothers and sister, graduated from Ames High, and later got her beautician’s license from Iowa School of Beauty.

Above all things Pat loved God and her family. The family spent many a holiday at her home, usually beginning the meal with a tearful prayer from her, even in the happiest of days. Pat was legendary for her love of chocolate, often saying it was the key to a long and healthy life. She loved to bake. You couldn’t visit without being offered a cookie and a hug. She was an avid exerciser, working through many stationary bikes and often walking to the park with grandkids and her beloved dog Nuke. Pat rejoiced in and thrived on being a Grandma. She spent many Friday nights in the McDonald’s Play Place and buying Happy Meals for all her grandkids. There were many rounds of monkey in the middle, rummy, and Monopoly played at her home. Pat was very proud of each and every one of her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Melinda Kay Franz and Troy (Noelle) David Krueger; grandchildren, Jade (Aaron) Toren, Axton Krueger, Autumn Krueger, Trevor Franz, Kylie Krueger and Cael Krueger; five great-grandchildren; sister, Sandy (Darwin) Poock; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Frank, Jack, and Ted Blair, son Trent, baby boy Eddie, baby girl Tracey, and granddaughter, Christina.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Westchester Evangelical Free Church, 4919 NW Aurora Avenue in Des Moines, IA with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Bondurant Cemetery.
