Lois Jane Grove

Lois Jane Grove went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with her first and only love, Richard Wayne Grove, on June 9, 2026.

Lois was born on December 19, 1942 to Rhyne and Johanna (Vanderwier) Groothuis. She lived, grew up, got married and started a family in Muskegon, MI. Her early years were devoted to raising her family and making sure each of her three children know Jesus.

She took great joy in sewing, knitting and baking for her family. She continued to sew and make quilts throughout the rest of her life, blessing many people over the years, including her 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren as well as people across the world through her involvement in a sewing ministry.

Lois is survived by her son, Scott (Laury) Grove, daughter, Sharon (Steve) Olson and son Phillip (Sue) Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at The Mission Church, 12001 Ridgemont Dr., Urbandale, Iowa with a visitation one hour prior. A luncheon will follow the service and burial will be at Oralabor Cemetery in Ankeny, Iowa following the luncheon.
