Lien Chung

Lien Rang Chung, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Taylor House Hospice surrounded by her family.

Lien was born April 3, 1943, in Cambodia to Rang Raing and Kay Rang. She arrived as a refugee with her family to Grinnell, Iowa in 1979. They moved to Washington State for a time, before returning to Iowa. Lien enjoyed fishing and camping. She was fun-loving and the life of the party. She loved her family and friends more than anything.

She is survived by her children, Luep (Lalm) Douch, Tuet (Sanaye) Chung, Ya (Marc) Caldwell, Somnang Chung, and Vatsana Chung, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Lien was preceded in death by her parents, 12 siblings, her husband, Chuen Chung; and her son, Thol Chung.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
