LeAnna F. Carreon
May 08, 1971 — December 25, 2024
LeAnna Francine Carreon, age 53, was born May 8, 1971, and passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
LeAnna left a lasting positive impression wherever she went. People always loved her. LeAnna never knew a stranger; you didn’t have a choice because she just drew you in! She liked listening to live music and loved being on the beach and pool-side. Her family was her life. She loved traveling, family vacations, and car rides. LeAnna enjoyed shopping and hosting the annual 4th of July pool party. She loved her dogs and you could always find her on her patio with her flowers, her husky and two chihuahuas.
She is survived by her children, Brock (Karly) DeVaughn, Salena (Brett C.) Carreon, and Vincent Carreon; grandchildren, Bodie and Kambrie DeVaughn and Beau Chandler; mother, Donna Speed; step mother, Victoria Porter; sister, Lori Carrara; two nephews and one niece; and a host of extended family members and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
LeAnna was preceded in death by her father, Larry Porter and step father, David Speed.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of LeAnna.

When I think of you Lea, I see giant smiles that make every day a sun shiny day. Your zest for life and vibrant personality were so uplifting to all those around you! The way you spoke of your babies and grand babies only confirmed the love in your heart could not be contained, but was cast out to envelope those dear to you.
You are a beacon of light that will never be extinguished, all who knew you will carry your flame in their heart (I know I am) until we see you again! Sleep soundly until then Talitha!

Leah was one of the friendliest and most caring people I’d ever met. Always a smile in her face and wonderful laugh. I always enjoyed seeing her around town and enjoyed catching up with her. She called her son Brocker Brew and I call my son Brecker Brew. We always had a good laugh over that. Leah was loved and will be missed. Goodbye my sweet friend.

What an amazing gift I was given when I met you. You influenced my life in so many positive ways. We navigated through many seasons together, always supporting each other and always loving each other, knowing that we had an unbreakable bond to each other(even when we tried to break it, we couldn’t).
We have so many memories from my senior prom, Manhattan, Kansas trips, Florida/Disney World, family trips, Caribbean, cruising with the unlimited drink package(VIP baby), going to the public Pool with our kiddos, to Ladies, swim days at our upscale above ground pools(aka Tiki club Backyard paradise).
I will hold these memories close to my heart for the rest of my life. You will never be far from me as these memories will sustain me until we meet again.
Hold a place for me up in heaven, and I look forward to the day, I meet you in heaven and receive big uncomfortable hug from you. Until then, rest my friend.
Love you always and forever.

Lea you were such a great friend to me. Your kindness towards me will never be forgotten. You invited me to Thanksgiving with your family and I felt like family being there. I will miss our talks. Rest in peace my dear friend.
