Karla R. Genovese

Karla Rae Genovese, age 61, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Accura Healthcare in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Karla was born December 4, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa to M. Dean Salyers and Donna (Wilson) Aguiniga.

She enjoyed her morning cup of coffee, doing craft activities and playing card games. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children Jami Leigh, Jean Nicholls (Bob), and Joeseph Cason, her two grandchildren Ethan Mauro and Drew Nicholls, her siblings Kimberly Mauro, Kelli Mauro, and Toni Mauro (Mike), her step siblings, and several nieces and nephews.

Karla was preceded in death by her parents M. Dean Salyers and Donna (Wilson) Aguiniga (John), and her brother Kevin Salyers.

Cremation will occur followed by a Visitation to be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. A burial will take place at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family.
