Judy Sydnes

Judy Carol Sydnes, 62, passed away July 3, 2026.

She was born December 27, 1963 in Houston, Texas to Robert and Jimmie Namink. Judy was a homemaker for many years and CNA at the VA. She had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping others both at work and at home. Judy enjoyed vegetable/flower gardening and playing frisbee. She was also quite the crafter and seamstress. Most of all Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and she will be deeply missed by those that loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Sydnes; children, Nathaniel Sandstrom, Kezia (Trevor) Williams, and William Sandstrom; grandchildren, Christian, Benjamin, Brielyn, Cooper, Jakob, Evelyn, Esther, and Leah; father, Robert Namink; and her siblings, Kimberly (Scott) Kronick-Worrall, Lanette (Erick) Rasmussen, and David (Celine) Namink.

Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Jimmie Namink.

Services will be held Friday, July 17, 2026 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Judy will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
