Judy York passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, surrounded by her family. Her final moments were a gift that will always be treasured.
Judy was born to Erhardt and Emma Jensen on January 14, 1939, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and attended the Iowa State Teachers College (UNI).
She married Erik Eriksen on June 18, 1960, and they had two children, Scott and Wendy. They eventually moved to Ankeny in 1967 and made that their home.
Judy spent most of her working years at DMACC. First as the secretary to Chef Robert Anderson in the Culinary Arts Center and then as the secretary for the Conference Center. Many people also knew her for her many years working at Gene Ann’s Hallmark in Ankeny.
In June of 2007, Judy met the love of her life, Robert York, and the two of them were married on October 7, 2007. They had 16 ½ wonderful years together!
Her faith in Jesus Christ was center to her life and she was an active member of The Mission Church in Urbandale, Iowa. She served in many ways. Judy would brighten up a room with her joyous smile and heartfelt laughter. She lived life to its fullest and shared her love with those around her. She most loved being “Grammy” to five beautiful granddaughters and “GG” to five great-grandsons. For those that knew Judy, she could never pass-up a good sale!

Judy: When I was going through a tough time. Thank you for your dinners, your encouragement, and your friendship along with Bob. Just being Jesus, when I really needed it. And oh by the way all the fun we had playing games.
