Jeneane Rae Weston Tillotson
May 15, 1947 — May 30, 2024
Jeneane Rae Weston Tillotson passed away on May 30th after a long struggle with Alzheimers. She was born on May 15, 1947, in Des Moines. She was the daughter of Allen and Betty (Patterson) Weston.
Jeneane was a lifelong Eastsider and proud graduate of East High class of 1965. She lived on Guthrie Avenue in three different homes totaling over 60 years. Along the way she made many lifelong friends of her Guthrie neighbors like Jan Glew and Judy Somers.
Jeneane was married to Ben Tillotson and they were blessed with sons Todd and James. Being a mom was the best job she ever had.
After high school, she worked for her father as a secretary. But her real passion was in helping people so she became a nurse's assistant and then a Licensed Practical Nurse. Most of her career was as an office nurse working for Dr. Rahim Bassiri. She made many lasting friendships with her co-workers.
Jeneane loved to find bargains at garage sales, thrift stores, consignment shops, and estate sales. She and Ben decorated their home for every holiday with all the treasures that found.
Her greatest interest was attending her sons' and grandchildren's sports and musical activities at East High. She always praised them afterwards, win or lose.
After retiring she and Ben hit the road in their motorhome and we're able to have memorable vacations with family and friends. She also helped her good friend Judy prepare Simpson Methodist Church's semiannual rummage sales.
The above is only a small part of an amazing woman's life. She was the moral North Star for her family. There aren't enough words to describe the essence of Jeneane. Let it go at, you had to know Jeneane to "know" Jeneane.
Jeneane was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Weston; foster daughter, Vivian Rand; and her daughter, Sonya; father and mother-in-law, T.L. and Vera Tillotson. She is survived by her husband, Ben; sons, Todd and James (Margie); sister, Debbie Kain; brother, Jack (Roberta) Weston; sister-in-law, Sheryl Weston; aunt, Thelma Durst; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry (Don) Bozarth, Barry (Janis) Tillotson, Jan (Tom) Frankum, Bruce (Midge) Tillotson, Mark Tillotson and Garry Tillotson. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren, Case (Tammi) Tillotson, Tanner Tillotson, Christina Garcia, and RaeAnn Tillotson; step-grandchildren, Eric (Jenn) Moberg, Aaron (Allison)Moberg, Mark (Lyndsey)Moberg and Megan (Jake)Bales-Henry. She is also survived by several step-great-grandchildren.
Per her wishes, following cremation, there will be no services. Any memorials may be made to family and will be donated to the Goodrell School Foundation.

Jeneane was a neighbor when we were kids. We all loved her! Later in life, when my mom, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, she was the nurse for the doctor that we went to and I honestly wouldn't have made it without her. So sorry for your loss.

Was always happy to see Jeanene at the Simpson sales. I grew up on Guthrie and as a teenager took care of Todd and James in the summers. Jeanine was always so sweet.
