June Price

June Ann O’Connor Decker Price, 80, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025.

June was born October 27, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald and Pauline O’Connor. She was a graduate of East High School, and a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. June married Jerry Decker in 1968, who passed away unexpectedly in 1971, leaving her a widow and young mother. She then found love again, marrying Frank C. Price in 1978, and they would have celebrated their 47th anniversary this March.

June was a very active member of Community of Christ Church and was ordained as a teacher. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and was an enthusiastic baker and cake decorator. She loved to cook and host Sunday meals, gathering her family around her and bringing people together. And you never left empty handed!

She is survived by her husband, Frank C. Price; daughters, Melissa Price and Sarah Price; grandchildren, Ethan Ibarra and Adrian Ibarra; in-laws, Marilyn O’Connor, Helen McCord, and Scott McCord; nieces and nephews, Pat O’Connor, Brad (Mark) McCord, Lisa (Matt) Hester, and Kristen (Chris) Walters; as well as extended family and many friends.

June was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Decker; son, Jeff Decker; brother, Jerry O’Connor; nieces, Jennifer O’Connor and Cheryl O’Connor; and her parents, Donald and Pauline O’Connor.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., followed by memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. For those unable to attend the service in person, it will be livestreamed through the link below. Private family burial will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
