Service Details

Edmund Joseph Piasecki, Jr., known to family and friends as Butch, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Ed lived a life defined by hard work, creativity, and an unwavering love for his family. He was a gifted professional baker who owned and operated his own bakery for many years before selling the business and taking his talents to corporate America. His dedication to his craft, attention to detail, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

While baking was his profession, cooking was his passion. Ed was not only an exceptional baker but an even better cook. He found great joy in preparing meals for his family, bringing everyone together around the table with food made from the heart. Those gatherings created memories that will be cherished forever.

When he wasn’t in the kitchen, Ed could often be found in his workshop. He loved woodworking and building things with his hands, taking pride in creating pieces that reflected his creativity, patience, and craftsmanship.

Ed is lovingly survived by his son, Edmund “Ed” Piasecki III and daughter-in-law, Joanna Carpe; his daughter, Charlotte Britt and son-in-law, Ty Britt; and his cherished grandchildren, Jacob and Jacqueline Piasecki and Marcus, Patrick, and Alaina Britt. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his family, and he was immensely proud of each of them.

He was preceded in death by Jacqueline Piasecki, the mother of his children, and later by his second wife, Peg.

Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the meals he prepared, the things he built, and the example he set will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family finds comfort in knowing that his legacy is carried forward through the lives he touched and the memories they will treasure forever.

The family will hold a private internment service in Chicago.
