Elizabeth "Liz" Grosam

Elizabeth Marie (Hall) Grosam, age 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Wesley on Grand in Des Moines surrounded by her family.

Liz was born October 6, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa to James Arthur Hall and Mary Elizabeth (Russell) Hall. She lived most of her life in the Des Moines area. Elizabeth worked for many years for Community Choice Credit Union, and then as an accountant for Allied Construction, in addition to many other jobs.

A woman of deep faith, Liz found joy in reading religious books and lived a life rooted in kindness and love. She had a passion for creativity, spending countless hours crafting beautiful handmade cards, cross-stitching intricate designs, sewing, and sharing delicious meals from her kitchen. Above all, Liz treasured her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren. Her warmth, laughter, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Liz was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her two children, Chad (Cathy) Grosam and Dawn (Frank) Buttrey; sister, Luane Baker; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Tristan, and Frankie.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Hall and brother, Richard Hall.

Cremation has occurred and there will be a celebration of life held in the spring on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa. The service will be followed by a lunch and visitation. Private burial will be held separately for immediate family at a later time.
