Donald "Don" I. Cleghorn

Donald I. Cleghorn, 79, passed away November 29, 2024. He was born October 3, 1945 to his parents, Everett and Clarkie Cleghorn.

Don worked for Pepsi for 8 ½ years before going into trucking where he later became a district manager. He started his own business “Cleghorn Home Exteriors” and enjoyed helping his clients. He was a big Iowa Hawkeye fan. Most of all he loved being involved in his grandkid’s activities.

Don is survived by wife of 57 years, Sandy Cleghorn; sons, Brian (Jennifer) and Jamie (Galadriel) Cleghorn; grandchildren, Jordan, Kylie, Noah, Chase, and Ethan; and his sister, Nancy (Frank) Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Stan Cleghorn, Jackie Mason, Patricia Reeves, Gloria Jackson, Annabelle Brown, Lucille Sigler, Beverly Rana, George Cleghorn, Tom Cleghorn, Everette Cleghorn, and Phyllis See; and his dog, Jake.

Family will greet friends Monday, December 9, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, One NE 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
