Darwin "Skip" Weaver
October 10, 1948 — March 11, 2026
Darwin “Skip” Weaver, 77, passed away peacefully at his home March 11, 2026.
Skip was born October 10, 1948, in Des Moines to Darwin and Vera (Strong) Weaver. Following his high school graduation from Saydel, he went to work for Rock Island Railroad. Skip then proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return to Des Moines, he went to work for Northwestern Bell, where he worked as a Sales Specialist for many years. During the 1980’s, Skip graduated from the American Institute of Business and pursued a career in computer operations with CDS, later with Wells Fargo and eventually retired from EDS. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He was an avid fan of Downton Abbey, Star Wars and Harry Potter. Skip loved going on cruises with his son Jeremy and meeting new people. He really enjoyed 3-D puzzles and collecting old telephones. Skip had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. His family fondly referred to him as “the professor” because he had all the answers, some fact, some fiction. Skip was their Google before Google.
Skip is survived by his daughters, Tonya LoVan and Aimee (Clark) Middle; sons, Jeremy Weaver and Mark (Brenda) Weaver; grandchildren, Nikki (Ryan) Dorr, Vincent Weaver, Tommy Weaver, Skylar (JJ) Emunah, Addison Weaver and Olivia Weaver; great-grandchildren, Landon, Berkley, Everett and Amaya; sister, Patricia Voll; sister-in-law, Gull Weaver; brother-in-law, Loyd (Carol) Jensen; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his extended family, Harold and Elaine Howard, children and grandchildren and David and Lois Osborn, children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Jean Weaver; parents, Darwin and Vera Weaver; brother, Royal Weaver; two nieces; two nephews; and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
