Dorcas (Dee) Ann Wolfe, age 84, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Dorcas was born February 28, 1939, in Shannon City, Iowa to Albert and Stephana (Kiefer) Wolfe. Dorcas graduated from Bondurant High School in 1957. After high school she attended the University of Iowa. She worked as a lab technician at Des Moines General Hospital and then the Teamsters Local 238 until her retirement in 1995.

Dorcas was a avid woodcarver and a member of the Mid-Iowa Woodcarvers for over 40 years. She could be found every year in the cultural building at the Iowa State Fair demonstrating woodcarving since 1982 and served as the superintendent of the woodcarving at the fair from 1998 to 2009. In retirement, Dorcas traveled around the country for woodcarving events and classes.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her siblings, Stephen Wolfe, and Sara Roland; nieces & nephews, and many other loving family and friends

Dorcas was preceded in death by her son, Brent Lane Wolfe; parents Albert and Stephana Wolfe, siblings Sonja Bailey, Russell Wolfe, and Bruce Wolfe.

A celebration of life will be held in Mitchellville, IA along with a private inurnment at the Hamilton Cemetery, in Pleasanton, IA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to family in loving memory of Dorcas.
