Cathy Kimberley passed away Saturday Nov 9, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital after a short illness.

She was born on October 19, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Harry and Kathleen Kimberley and grew up in Maxwell, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Bondurant-Farrar Schools where she participated in many activities.

Cathy was a caring and loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She never met a ‘stranger’ as they became a friend.

Cathy worked at John Deere Des Moines Works, Ankeny, Iowa as a buyer until retirement. She was a dedicated and valued employee and retired after 33 years.

She was a longtime member of Farrar Church where she was baptized and confirmed, and participated in Youth Group and Church choir.

Cathy enjoyed many trips with her sisters, including to Europe (England, Italy, France, Monte Carlo, and West Germany), family fishing trips to Kimberley West Resort in Ontario, Canada and many trips with cousins and friends.

As an aunt, she was much loved by her nephews and niece. Always the fun aunt, she would take them to zoos, baseball and football games, parks, shopping, etc.

Cathy’s passing has left a big hole in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Cathy is survived by her sisters Rebecca Holdridge, Sherry Occhuizzo, and brother Kevin Kimberley (Amy), nephews Sean Holdridge (Emily), Justin Holdridge (Karen), Scott Occhuizzo (Julia), Brock Kimberley (Brittney), Jessica Kimberley (Nick), Kole Kimberley, and great nephews and great niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Kathleen Kimberley, sister Kristine Kimberley, brother-in-law Terry Holdridge, stepmother Elaine Kimberley, and stepbrother Mark Coffin.

Family will greet friends on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Farrar Bible Fellowship, 11180 NE 134th Ave, Maxwell, IA 50161 from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral service will be held at noon, followed by burial at Peoria Cemetery, 663rd Avenue, Indian Creek Township, Iowa. Lunch will then follow at the church.
