Asher Lucas Ryan Yates

Asher Lucas Ryan Yates was born January 15, 2024, at 5:04 p.m. to Megan and Ryan Yates. He was eagerly welcomed by his sisters Raegan and Leighton Yates.

Asher was the sweetest baby. He wanted to be snuggled all the time. He lit up when his sisters were around. Asher was pure joy with a smile that made you melt. He was most known for his big blue eyes that caught the attention of whoever was around. Every medical personnel that came in to care for Asher started with “Oh! He really is the most adorable baby just like the note in his chart says.”

He passed away peacefully on the morning of July 5, 2024, in the arms of his parents. During his last day on earth, Asher was surrounded by his family and friends talking about the goodness of God, singing worship songs, and voices of children playing, celebrating life, freedom and community.

Asher was greeted in heaven by his great grandparents Ronald “Ron” Mead of Godfrey, Illinois, Sharon Sperry of Stuart, Florida, William “Bill” and Mary Withers of Godfrey, Illinois and Bobby Gene “BG” Yates of Edwardsville, Illinois. Along with several great aunts, great uncles, great-great grandparents and cousins.

His surviving grandparents include Perry and Michelle Withers of Edwardsville, Illinois, Sharla Withers of Stuart, Florida and Robert "Steve" and Sherri Yates of Wood River, Illinois.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024, at New Hope Assembly of God, 4425 70th Street, Urbandale, IA 50322 with a private burial for family.
