Service Details
Ethel Emma Wright, 63, went to be with her Lord May 31, 2011 at the Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Berwick Cemetery.
Ethel was born June 13, 1947 in Des Moines to Verneta and Arthur Hilliard. Ethel spent all of her life preaching and being a servant of the Lord. She enjoyed singing, writing poetry and watching deer. Helping others and being with her family was her greatest joy.
Ethel is survived by her husband, Scott Wright Jr.; her children, Robert D. and Amie Ellis, Michele and Paul Aurand, Holly Faux, Scott and Lorie Wright; Sharon Applegate , and Kim Wright; 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Ethel was preceded in death by her daughter, Faith, her parents and 3 brothers.

My dear Aunt Ethel you were a strong pillar to the family and will be greatly missed. You were alwas there when time's were hard for many of the family members. Your strengh carried many of us through some of our toughest times. May you rest in peace.

Aunt Ethel was an awesome woman. Her faith was a beacon to me even when I did not want to believe or follow. She was a leader of so many important things in my life, my wedding, my sons baptism, and my dads memorial. I could never have made it through these events without her love and support. She will be missed here in our world beyond measure but the angels are singing their blessings as she enters our lords gates. May his love and comfort be with you as you grieve her loss and celebrate her life.

You loved me for me which meant the world to me cause sometimes my actions weren't the greatest. I love you my dear mother-in-law - grandmother to my sons, Michael and Mason.
