Dotty Jo Hill

Dotty Jo, 76, passed on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born November 29, 1934 in Des Moines to Alfred Hill and Marjorie L. Hill. She graduated from East High School in January 1953. Dotty Jo was a member of Grandview Lutheran Church until her move out of the Des Moines area. She worked for the IRS for 43 years in Des Moines, St. Louis, and Washington D.C. Dotty Jo retired and moved back to the Des Moines area in 2008. She served in the Navy National Guard for many years.

Dotty Jo was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; aunt, Dorothy Peterson; and step-mother, Martha Hill. She is survived by her cousins; step-brother; sister-in-law; nieces; and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Dotty Jo had requested that donations be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, Grandview Lutheran Church in Des Moines or Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. Per her wishes, her body has been cremated.
